Nicola Fromichetti, known as Lady Gagas stylist, creative director of Dazed & Confused magazine, fashion director at Vogue Hommes Japan and Uniqlo, has been appointed as the creative director at Thierry Mugler, changing the name of the house to just Mugler and presenting the houses first menswear collection yesterday in Paris. This is a link to the fashion video using snippets of the show amongst other material. Check it out, it is obviously fantastic. What else is to be expected, eh? The "latex skin" slowly being ripped off and the tattooed sking shining through, I find it surprisingly soft and harmonic, much lighter than it sounds, especially with the nature of the body paint or tattoos, showcasing the bonestructure underneath the skin and quite literally covering the model head to waist. Lady Gaga, who provided the soundtrack for this video, made sure the music really pulled it all together by not making the music too dark or claustrophobic. I hope that this is a start for a great revived fashion house and I am excited to see which way they are heading with the womenswear collection in March.
